6 Program Components

We are often asked, “How do you do it? How have you been able to bring so many children closer to Christ in a secular world?” Our answer is that we attract them by offering a variety of educational and real-life coping skills they would not otherwise receive in this remote area of the Amazon. Since the children of this low socio-economic status agricultural community cannot go out into the world, we bring the world to them. This is achieved through our international volunteers of varied ages and professions who apply our six program components, with religious studies as the foundation. The young adults who participate in our program gain confidence and awareness that, with hard work and dedication, they have the potential to go anywhere and do anything in their lives with our Lord Jesus as their guide. We believe that this creates more effective witnesses in Christ out of ourselves, our volunteers, and our students as we go back out into the world after our service here at The Blue Lagoon. It all comes together through our six program components.
