Whatever passion you have to share let us help you create a Custom Volunteer Experience .
We recognize that not all Christians are teachers or have special athletic skills or can teach art classes. However, over the years of working as a volunteer and hosting volunteers, we have found that everyone has a special passion they can share and use as a way of bringing the children of our community closer to Christ.
We encourage diversity because the more diverse our volunteer placements are the more people we can reach increasing overall witnessing opportunities. Please check out our Discussion Board (currently under reconstruction).
Don’t forget to visit The Bulletin Board- Ideas & Opportunities for Building Your Own Volunteering Experience.
On the Bulletin Board, you can check out possible openings that you might be able to fill in relation to our current needs feel free to use one of our website’s various contact forms so you can share your own idea for a possible VOLUNTEER COMPONENT so we can consider accommodating!
We wait with enthusiasm for any ideas you might have which can become program ideas to draw students in increasing our opportunities to be witnesses in Christ to the children here at the beautiful Blue Lagoon.

Nutrition-
The Nutrition Classes, created by Joe, who came to us with a master’s in Sports Medicine, have been another popular element of the 6th Component that we regularly teach. The popular 10-week, 10-topic course program covers all the basics from Nutrition & Sports to Nutrition & Disease, as well as subjects like carbohydrates, sugars, fats, and proteins. Being the only basic nutrition class in the community, it also provides us with another opportunity to reach a more diverse population and increase our chances of witnessing in the community we serve.
Additionally, we are aware of the positive results of this class because we often receive questions and comments from parents after our students share what they have learned at home.
Science Fair-
More than once, we have had volunteers express an interest in helping out the local elementary school with science projects. Therefore, two years ago, we started the annual Science Fair & Contest. We hope to find another volunteer soon who can assist us with this project starting in the fall of this year.
Aside from this component being and attraction that makes witnessing to students posible we use this component to teach several key life skills.
